Work in Progress: "H.O.P.E." Part Two
Pictured on the only online map people recognise: The River Dee. Not pictured: the island described (but it's definitely there).
At the centre of the ancient River Dee, there is an island. It is several hundred feet from the Western bank, and it is very difficult to see. The marshes to the east disguise it well, especially when they’re fortunate enough to be on fire.
The island is small enough to be ignored on most maps. It is even smaller than the islands of New Zealand. Such a tiny, miniscule and infinitesimal island would usually not be worthy of description, except to show off the purchase of a new combined encyclopaedia-thesaurus. Still, the island is definitely there.
